During the summer when people are hibernating indoors and not really wanting to pose for pictures, I had some free time on my hands and decided to do some personal work. There are so many incredible photographers in this business that we are so focused on marketing and how to be more efficient in order to save time, that it's so easy to get stuck in the same routine. I very often forget to do the one thing that makes me better and how I actually became a photographer in the first place: just shoot for the fun of it.
I firmly believe in experimenting with new things without the pressure of being paid but unfortunately very guilty of not doing it too often. I believe it is something that we owe ourselves and more over, our clients. Every client deserves your best work. They are after all paying you with their hard earned money and have chosen to invest it in you. For this reason and this reason alone, I try to make the time to constantly identify where I need improvement and do my best to improve.
This summer I focused more on posing brides. I bought an online class and after watching it I decided to put together a styled shoot. Ashley was very generous to offer up her Saturday morning and we headed to a wedding cafe (yes, you read correctly: a wedding themed coffee shop).
Ashley I am incredibly grateful for your time, patience and dedication to this shoot. You are such a beautiful girl (inside and out) and an absolute gem to work with! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
